TikTok Songs to Keep You Vibing Through 2021

There are so many songs out there, yet only a selected few manage to go viral on TikTok. Many of them get turned into popular TikTok challenges, while others are just straight lit. Some of the most popular songs of recent years even got their starts on TikTok before racing to the top of the Billboard charts.

Here are a handful of gems that became viral on TikTok in 2021 and are definitely worth listening to longer than a 15- (or 60-) second clip. We promise!

“Vacation” by Dirty Heads

This song is famous for TikTokers showing off their jobs or transitioning to another location to the line “I’m on vacation every single day because I love my occupation.” while doing a dab.

“Up” by Cardi B

This song went all over TikTok for a wide array of viral content. The most common amongst them all were TikTok dances and a challenge where users transition themselves before and after getting ready, called the #upcardibchallenge.

“Drivers License” by Olivia Rodrigo

With almost 3 million videos, this iconic song has been one of the most ubiquitous songs so far. Some TikTokers use it as a background track in scenarios such as lying on the ground in the rain as a symbol of their heartache, thanks to its heartbreaking lyrics.

“So Pretty” by Reyanna Maria

TikTokers use this sound to transition from a no-makeup look to after they get ready. The initial beats of the song mimic the hitting of the camera before they reveal their new look during the line, “I’m So Pretty”.

“Buss It” by Erica Banks

This one has been used on TikTok as a transition video that TikTokers use to show off their favourite outfits or looks. The difference here is that instead of just showing it, TikTokers pop down into a squat-style pose at the end.

“Build a B*tch” by Bella Poarch

Bella Poarch found her fame on TikTok and it is no surprise that her newly released song became a hit on TikTok as well just within 2 weeks of being released. TikTokers celebrated the release of her song with videos of themselves singing along to the lyrics with a pre-set filter.

“deja vu” by Olivia Rodrigo

Another hit by Olivia Rodrigo began trending on TikTok when TikTokers used it alongside an inverted filter on the app to mimic some of the elements in her music video for the song as well as to see if their faces were symmetrical or not, giving rise to the #dejavuchallenge.

“Peaches” by Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber’s earworm “Peaches” can be found in all kinds of content on TikTok, from lifestyle, makeup, comedy, dance and lip-synching videos.

“Kiss Me More ft. SZA” by Doja Cat

If you’re on TikTok, chances are you’ve probably seen plenty of TikTokers dancing or lip-synching along to this Doja Cat and SZA collab song.

“Please Don’t Go” by Mike Posner

This 10 year-old song recently found its fame on TikTok. The summer-vibes track has been used by TikTokers who start out driving normally in their cars, before transitioning to wearing headscarves and sunglasses on the beat of the chorus.

New songs are discovered and start to trend on TikTok almost every day. While these selections may not be as popular as they once were before, they will definitely be one of the highlight moments of TikTok in 2021.
