Better Late Than Never - Clubhouse Now on Android
As explained by Clubhouse:
“Today, we are thrilled to share that Clubhouse for Android will start rolling out in beta immediately. We will begin gradually, with the U.S. today, followed by other English-speaking countries and then the rest of the world. Our plan over the next few weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix any issues we see and work to add a few final features like payments and club creation before rolling it out more broadly.”
After a year of being iOS exclusive, Clubhouse is finally releasing its Android version. With it rolling out in beta mode, the app will have some limitations for Android users like, the inability to create and manage clubs, updating usernames in-app, social media account linking, to name a few.
Clubhouse became a sensation when it first launched in 2020 because of the exclusive invite-only system that made people feel special and it was a new form of real-time audio interaction. But since then, every other social media platform has launched its own form of live audio platform.
The growing variety of live audio platforms has made this a debate whether it will slow Clubhouse’s potential Android user take-up after its launch. Do you think Clubhouse will still appeal to Android users with all the competition out there? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
Android users can download Clubhouse for Android and sign up to be alerted once it’s available in your area.
