There’s no denying that Seoul is the motherland when it comes to aesthetics. This also explains why cafes in Seoul are always perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. New cafes are constantly opening up and the sheer variety of cafes out there can make picking the next cafe-hopping spot a tough choice. This week, YouTuber Kieun Choi gives WILD her top picks when it comes to cafe-hopping in Seoul.



01.

TYPE COFFEE



Nestled in Samcheong-dong, located in a trendy area of Seoul known as Bukchon, TYPE is a hanok-style (Korean traditional house) cafe where traditionalism and modernism coexist. The minimalistic and clean space creates a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a chill day.

02.

SLOW FOREST



Nestled in the deep alleys of Samcheong-dong, Slow Forest is a dog-friendly cafe that offers a small menu and cozy environment. The rooftop is also a perfect place to spend the afternoon with a view of the Bukchon area. The cafe also houses rescue or abandoned dogs and encourages people to “Adopt, Don’t Shop”.

USEFUL ATELIER



Located in the trendy neighbourhood of Seongsu, Useful Atelier is an European cafe and optical shop built in one that screams vintage vibes. Kieun recommends visiting this cafe for their “useful” coffee and vintage interior decor.

CONHAS COFFEE



Conhas Coffee owns two cafes in Seoul, both featuring its’ signature Conhas’ style. Stark and minimal in foundation but unexpectedly warmed through subtle details and inspirational design. Conhas coffee is a perfect place to go alone or with friends to enjoy a cup of coffee and spacious seating.

DARLING KITCHEN SEOUL



Darling Kitchen Seoul is located in Nonhyeon-dong in the Gangnam District. The cafe is known to be one of the best Brunch spots in Seoul that makes getting out of bed worthwhile. This is also the cafe that appears in the Korean drama, Healer ( 힐러 ), from 2014.

SCOFF BAKEHOUSE



Be prepared to be lured into Scoff Bakehouse by the heavenly aroma of freshly baked delights waiting to be picked up. Scoff is a British bakehouse located in Tongin-dong, east of Gyeongbokgung Palace. The bakehouse is filled with an amazing array of baked goods that can’t be found anywhere else in Seoul that is definitely worth visiting.
